The service is opt-in and interested residents will need to provide the City with their relevant mobile and contact details which will be entered into a database for messages to be disseminated as required. Your full name, residential address and mobile telephone number, with only one mobile to be registered per property, is required.
The type of information sent includes notifications for Fire Danger Ratings Extreme and Catastrophic, Total Fire Bans and Harvest and Vehicle Movement Bans declared for the City of Kalamunda and burning period reminders,
The SMS system is for out-bound messages only and is not a method for contacting the City.

Bushfire safety is a priority in the City of Kalamunda and the Emergency Management SMS System will assist to get vital messages about bushfire safety and emergency management to the community much faster.
The System is to support existing emergency arrangements with Hazard Management agencies and radio stations. The more people that register the more effectively we can disseminate priority information and we urge all residents to register with the City.
The SMS System notifications are delivered by a third party provider, as such the timing and delivery of the messages cannot be guaranteed. Residents are urged not to rely on this method to be the sole means of receiving notifications and updates.
