All plants are tube stock or smaller. The program aims to promote the re-vegetation of residential and rural properties with local native trees, shrubs and groundcovers. Planting not only improves landscape quality but also provides an array of environmental benefits such as shade, carbon sequestration and shelter for birds, reptiles and small mammals.
The 2022 program saw 50 different varieties of local native plant species totalling over 13,000 seedlings given to residents.
The 2023 Plants for Residents program will be conducted online under a ‘click and pick’ model, with the option for residents to select their preferred scheduled timeslot for choosing their plants.
