‘The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library.’ - Albert Einstein
Welcome to the City of Kalamunda Library Service. We have four branch libraries, all are open six days per week. We also have an eLibrary where library members can access online resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Visit or phone the libraries during the opening hours listed, email us or complete our online contact form.

High Wycombe Library remains open and operational as per normal.
The City had developed a report on Libraries, which has been withdrawn, and will be undertaking further consultation with the community over the next 12 month on this matter. We want to understand the issues and concerns of residents before a decision is made.
It is also important to understand the wider landscape and we wish to work together and build a common understanding of new facilities and services that are proposed to come on board in the future and how all of these services will work together. The plan is for new facilities to replace our older less functional buildings. For example the new $60million Aquatic and Recreation Centre in High Wycombe will house a community centre where community activities can be provided. This year we are also moving Forrestfield Library out of its old small building into the Shopping Centre to be more accessible and contemporary.
The City is evolving and growing, particularly in the foothills and we want to provide new modern community facilities. Whilst we understand there is a temporary sense of loss when existing facilities are taken off line in favour of newer facilities elsewhere, there is also a balance that has to be struck from a financial sustainability perspective. If we build new facilities and try to keep older facilities the impact will be our ability to afford to maintain and operate them unless we substantially increase rates.
Please stay in contact so we can make sure when we run our community sessions to get your ideas you can participate and where possible find solution to your concerns or gain a deeper understanding of what the City is aiming to achieve as a whole. If you haven’t done so, we encourage you to register on the City’s engagement portal - engage.kalamunda.wa.gov.au where you will be notified of upcoming engagement activities
