Professional Artist Development with Lauren Gissing

Emerging local artist Lauren Gissing will be leading a practical workshop designed to help young artists take the next step in their creative journeys.
Over 2.5 hours, participants will explore the essentials of building a professional art practice, from writing artist statements and bios to presenting work effectively through framing and display.
The workshop will introduce:
- how to apply for exhibitions and
- respond to Expressions of Interest (EOIs),
- alongside an introduction to public art pathways,
- proposals, and
- concept development.
Lauren will also share insights into professional practices, including pricing work, networking, and building an online presence.
Through a mix of hands-on activities, group discussions, and real-world examples, participants will gain confidence in communicating their artistic vision and navigating opportunities in the art world.
