Public Transport Authority: Bus Stop Accessibility Works
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) has begun upgrading bus stops across the City of Kalamunda as part of its statewide Bus Stop Accessibility Works Program.
These upgrades help ensure bus stops meet national accessibility standards, making public transport safer and easier to use for everyone, including people with mobility aids, seniors, parents with prams, and passengers with vision impairment.
Across March and April 2026, 74 bus stops in suburbs including High Wycombe, Forrestfield, Maida Vale, Lesmurdie, Gooseberry Hill and Kalamunda will receive improvements such as:
- A level, accessible boarding area
- Tactile ground surface indicators
- Better connection to footpaths
- Correctly positioned bus stop poles and information modules
The PTA plans and manages the upgrades, with works coordinated to minimise disruption to residents. Nearby households are notified directly before works begin.
These improvements help create a more inclusive, accessible transport network for our whole community. We appreciate your patience while the works are completed.
For more information on the program, visit the PTA website.
