APPROVED LOCAL PLANNING SCHEME AMENDMENT
City of Kalamunda
LOCAL PLANNING SCHEME No. 3 - AMENDMENT 118
It is hereby notified for public information, in accordance with section 87 of the Planning and Development Act 2005 that the Minister for Planning approved the City of Kalamunda Local Planning Scheme Amendment No. 118 on 6 February 2026 for the purpose of aligning the City’s Scheme with the Short-Term Rental Accommodation Planning Regulations.
The amendment proposes to:
- delete the following land uses from the City’s Scheme: ‘bed and breakfast,’ ‘chalet,’ ‘motel’ and 'tourist ‘development.’
- introduce the ‘hosted short-term rental accommodation,’ ‘unhosted short-term rental accommodation’ and ‘tourist and visitor accommodation’ land use definitions into the Scheme and assign the land use permissibility within each zone.
- introduce a general definition for ‘cabin’ and ‘chalet.’
