The City of Kalamunda is bringing back its much‑loved Plants for Residents Program (PFR) in 2026, building on the success of last year’s revamped approach.
The Expression of Interest (EOI) system will return, ensuring a fairer and more accessible way for residents to receive native plant packs.
The program continues to focus on strengthening local biodiversity, supporting native wildlife, and contributing to a healthier urban canopy. Instead of the previous ‘first‑in, first‑served’ online rush, the EOI process gives all residents
an equal chance to participate.
The 2026 program will again provide pre‑selected native plant packs, replacing the former ‘pick‑and‑select’ model. Each pack is designed to be waterwise, low‑maintenance, and suitable for gardens across the City of Kalamunda. Plant species
may vary depending on nursery availability, but all substitutions will continue to meet the environmental goals of the program.
Key Dates for 2026
- EOIs open: Monday 13 April – Friday 8 May 2026
- Successful applicants notified: Mid-May 2026
