The City of Kalamunda is progressing Stage One of the High Wycombe Community Hub, a transformative $90 million project designed to deliver state-of-the-art, sustainable recreation and community facilities. The Hub will be the first major development within the High Wycombe Transit-Oriented Development precinct, providing essential recreational, sporting, and commercial amenities to meet the needs of a growing population.
Stage One is partially funded through $60 million in commitments from the Australian and Western Australian Governments.
Stage One will include:
An aquatic and recreation centre with indoor and outdoor pools, gym facilities, and wellness amenities
Flexible community spaces for events, programs, and social connection
Landscaped public open spaces and more than 200 car bays to support accessibility and integration with the surrounding precinct
Stage Two is estimated at $20 million and will include further enhancements to the Hub’s facilities, expanding its capacity to support a wider range of sporting, cultural, and community activities. Stage Two will be delivered once funding is secured.
The City is progressing towards submitting a Development Approval for all stages and will undertake community engagement shortly once the application is lodged. More information will be made available when dates are confirmed.
The Hub will support Metronet's vision of the precinct, promote active, healthy lifestyles, provide inclusive spaces for community connection, and will build local economic activity through job creation and increased visitation.
Designed with carbon neutrality in mind and aligned with the City’s Climate Change Action Plan, the Hub will be a lasting investment in the health, wellbeing, and prosperity of the community.
