FOGO Compost Bags

Your FOGO waste has come full circle - from your bin to your garden.

FOGO Compost Bags are available to City of Kalamunda residents only - Entry Pass or proof of residency required. Residents are entitled to 2x free compost bags, while stocks last.

Extra bags can also be purchased at a cost of $6.00 including GST. (EFTPOS only at Walliston Transfer Station).

    Thursday: 8.00am to 3.30pm
    Friday: 8.00am to 2.30pm
    Saturday & Sunday: 8.00am to 3.30pm
    * Closed ALL Public Holidays. Open on days when a Total Fire Ban is declared, but it must close when a Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban is declared.

How to use your FOGO Compost:

  • Ensure you follow the health warnings printed on the bag - personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and mask is recommended. Wash hands immediately after use.
  • Add to existing garden beds to add organic matter:
    Ornamentals, vegetables etc - Dig it in the top 20cm of the soil. One part compost, three (3) parts soil, blend together well. One bag for about 1m2
    Native plants/low organic garden soil - Dig it in to the top 20cm of soil. One part compost, eight (8) parts sandy soil. One bag for 2-3m2. Blend together well.
  • Or use as a mulch:
    Spread contents of bag over your existing garden bed at between 2.5cm to 5cm thick layer. One (1) bag will cover between 1.5m2 to 2.5m2

The FOGO Compost is certified to Australian Standard AS4454 and contains FOGO-derived-material collected from FOGO bins in the City of Kalamunda. The FOGO Compost is processed and packed in WA by Purearth.
