Prepare your application

For your application to be shortlisted, it must demonstrate that you meet the minimum criteria for the position.

2. Create your Covering Letter (max. 2 pages); include response to the Selection Criteria (if required, see advertisement); and
3. Update your Curriculum Vitae (Resume), ensure it includes:
• Full name
• Daytime contact number
• Email address
• Home address
• Work history (most recent first)
• Education and training history
• Contact details for at least two referees that can comment on your recent work history from a supervisory capacity.

• Write down any questions you would like to ask regarding the role or conditions of employment.

Attending the Interview

1. Bring along any supporting documents, if required.
2. Arrive 15 minutes early to read through the interview questions and prepare your responses.
3. The recruitment panel consists of at least two members. Interviews follow a set format to ensure equity and fairness to each applicant.
4. Interviews range from 30 minutes to 1 hour in duration depending on the role.

Further Assessment

• After the interview, People Services may contact your referees to conduct a Reference Check
• For some roles a medical and/or drug & alcohol screen maybe undertaken
• For some senior or specialty roles further selection testing may be undertaken such as skills assessment tests, emotional intelligence tests and/or cognitive ability tests.
• For some roles a police check and/or Working with Children Check will be required.
• All successful candidates will need to provide 100 points of ID and proof of their working rights in Australia.

Outcome

• The successful candidate will be verbally offered the position, on acceptance they are given a written Offer of Employment.
• Once they accept, the other interviewed candidates will be advised by phone call and all other candidates will be advised by email.

About this Opportunity

The award-winning Kids Cooking Club teaches kids 7-13 years how to prepare healthy foods, follow simple recipes and learn the basics around the kitchen in a fun, supportive environment. 

Must have Senior First Aid, Working With Children Check.

Position Type: Casual

Salary: $28.09 - $38.82 per hour, plus superannuation (depending on experience and qualifications)

Times: Days vary during the July school holidays 8.45am - 12pm | 12.30pm - 3.45pm

The City of Kalamunda is a local authority with a population of 60,000 located approximately a 35-minute drive from the Perth CBD.  The City provides the opportunity to work in a diverse environment from rural, natural bushland to highly developed residential, commercial and industrial areas.

About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Coordinator Waste & Fleet, this role supervises a team of 3 staff.  The role will require scheduling maintenance of the fleet, planning for future fleet upgrades including electric vehicles, ordering supplies, budgeting, financial reporting and some hands-on work in the workshop as required.  The successful candidate will ensure safe, high quality and cost-effective delivery and maintenance of the City’s current and future fleet.

Selection Criteria

1. Possession of heavy duty and/or light vehicle mechanical trade qualifications, minimum certificate 3 or 4 in Automotive Industry, minimum 5 years’ experience.
2. Fleet Management diploma/TAFE Certificate desirable
3. Strong leadership abilities and team building skills.
4. High level of time management and organisational skills.
5. Strong decision making, negotiation, facilitation and problem solving skills.
6. Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical and electrical issues.
7. Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
8. Highly developed knowledge of Asset (Fleet) Management principles.
9. Highly developed financial management and budgetary skills.

 Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight. We offer flexible work arrangements, including rostered days off fortnightly or monthly.

 About the Benefits

This position offers a salary of Level 8 being $102,973 - $108,878 p.a. depending on skills and experience, plus superannuation.  Other benefits include commuter use of a vehicle, laptop, mobile phone or allowance, annual increments, industrial agreement salary increases, a generous superannuation co-contribution scheme, 22 days annual leave with 17.5% loading and rostered days off.
