Don’t Risk It – Get Your Pet Microchipped for Free!

23 October 2019 4:00 PM

The City of Kalamunda is offering two, free microchipping and registration (fees apply) sessions in November for sterilised cats and dogs living in the City. The first session on Saturday 16 November will be at Hartfield Park Recreation Centre with a second session at the City of Kalamunda Administration building on Saturday 23 November. Both sessions will run from 9am to 1pm.

City of Kalamunda CEO Rhonda Hardy said losing a pet can be traumatic however microchipping provides a level of protection and peace of mind that a beloved pet can be reunited with its family.

“We know our free microchipping days have booked out in the past so I encourage residents to book early and also remember they must register their pet on the same day,” Ms Hardy said.

Proof of residency is required – utility bill, rates notice or driver’s license – and it is the responsibility of all pet owners to ensure the safety and correct containment of their pet. All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be contained.

Bookings for the 15-minute vet-administered microchipping appointments are essential and residents must also register their pets (fees applicable).

Pets can be registered for one-year, three-years or lifetime. Only sterilised cats can be registered and registrations can only be paid via EFTPOS.

Bookings essential.
