The City of Kalamunda is calling for nominations for two community reference groups to assist with the development and implementation of key transport and waterways strategies to future-proof the region.

The City is seeking five community members each for its Kalamunda Flowing Reference Group and Kalamunda Moving Reference Group.

The groups will each provide leadership advice and oversight on the development and implementation of the following strategies, Kalamunda Flowing – A Drainage and Waterways Strategy and Kalamunda Moving – A Transport and Road Safety Strategy.

City of Kalamunda Mayor, Cr Margaret Thomas, said stakeholder and community engagement is important to project governance.

“Each group has a unique focus to reflect each project and the opportunity for community involvement,” Mayor Thomas said.

“Councils that work with the community deliver much better outcomes and it’s important we hear from a variety of people to help us not just plan but create a great future.”

As both are specialised reference groups, community members will require significant knowledge and skills in planning, design or community engagement.

Nominations close 5pm, Monday 16 December 2019.
