Mayor Margaret Thomas said the Open Studios weekend is a great way for people to enjoy local art while taking in the City’s amazing amenity and landscapes.

“Visitors will get a glimpse behind the scenes as they tour the studios of local artists from painters to photographers to ceramicists,” Cr Thomas said.

“More than 20 artists will open their studios across to the public across the weekend where they will be available to share and discuss their passion, inspiration and artistic choices.

“Plus, it’s a great opportunity to purchase unique, locally made art direct from artists including David and Margaret Thornton, Chris Oxberry, Karin Hotchkin, Paul Moro, Gordon Mitchell, Penny Maddison, Moira Court, Anita Phillips and Johannes Pannekoek.”
