The Kalamunda Men’s Shed is holding an open day on Saturday, 14 November from 10am to 4pm. All members of the community are invited to check out the Men’s Shed in Lesmurdie with members giving live demonstrations and guided tours for small groups throughout the day. Children can get involved by taking part in some hands-on projects too.

Also taking part are several other community groups including Scouts, Country Women’s Association, the Seniors Hub, Kalamunda Lapidary Club, Kalamunda Rotary, the Bushfire Volunteer Brigade and more.

Earlier this year, the Kalamunda Men’s Shed officially opened its second shed with funding from both State and Federal governments so it now has dedicated space for woodworking and a separate shed for metalwork pursuits and other projects.

Mayor Margaret Thomas said the open day is a great opportunity for any men thinking of joining to check out the space, and to ask about the many projects the Men’s Shed has been involved with over the years.

“Having a dedicated space for local men to come and feel a part of something and to get support if they need it is such an amazing benefit of our Men’s Sheds,” Cr Thomas said.

“They encourage men to be active, stay connected and live independently.”

The Kalamunda Men’s Shed is located at 22 Falls Road, Lesmurdie next to the tennis courts, with overflow parking available at the Falls Road Primary School.
