Kicking-off 10am Saturday 14 November at the Darling Range Senior’s Hub, the hour-long rehearsals will continue 21 and 28 November and 5 and 12 December and culminate with a public performance on 23 December at the Kalamunda Night Market.

Mayor Margaret Thomas said absolutely no experience is necessary to join the choir, which will be overseen by choir director Justin Fletcher from Music Focus WA.

“If you’re looking for something fun come along, you’ll meet new friends and have a laugh,” Cr Thomas said. 

This year, Senior’s Week runs from 6 to 14 November with the City hosting a paired back program as the community continues to recover from the impacts of COVID-19.

“This year has certainly thrown us a curve ball but it’s really important we continue to support and celebrate the valuable contributions of older people within our community,” Cr Thomas said.

Senior’s looking to get, or stay, fit can take advantage of Hartfield Park Recreation Centre free active senior’s program from 2 to 13 November.

The City will also host the Senior Residents Art Exhibition - A Fanciful Vision - at the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre from 2pm to 4pm, Friday 6 November. The exhibition will continue to Sunday 15 November.
