COVID-19 Important Community Update
The City of Kalamunda will close all facilities and cancel all community events across the ANZAC Day long weekend from 11.59pm Friday 23 April through to 11.59pm Monday 26 April 2021 as per current State Government Health advice for the Perth and Peel regions to stop community spread of COVID-19.
Local ANZAC Day events are cancelled, and the City encourages residents to take part in dawn driveway services on Sunday 25 April 2021.
Mayor Margaret Thomas announced the closure of all City recreation centres from 6 pm this evening 23 April 2021, and libraries, cultural centres, including the Zig Zag Cultural Centre and History Village and Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre for Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 24 to 26 April 2021.
All of the City’s halls for hire have also been closed along with all playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor equipment in City reserves are not available to the public.
Walliston Transfer Station will be closed during the lockdown.
The Administration and Operations Centre are also closed to the public for the long weekend.
From 6pm tonight, masks are always to be worn when outside of your place of residence, this includes at workplaces and on public transport.
Anyone travelling today for the long weekend can do so until lockdown kicks in at midnight. Please remember to drive safely.

After the lockdown commences, people are required to stay at home unless they need to:
- work because they can't work from home or remotely.
- shop for essentials like groceries, medicine, and necessary supplies
- medical or health care needs including compassionate requirements and looking after the vulnerable, and
- exercise with only four other persons, limited to one hour per day in your neighbourhood and masks must be worn.
Additional details:
- Restaurants and cafes to provide takeaway service only.
- No visitors to hospitals or residential aged care and/or disability facilities, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
- Libraries and cultural institutions are closed.
- People are encouraged to get tested if they have symptoms and if people have been to an exposure site, they must go and get tested.
