The City of Kalamunda is committed to delivering improved community facilities to residents, with park upgrades, initiated through the City of Kalamunda’s Cash In Lieu program.

Mayor Margaret Thomas said work had commenced this week and in addition to the new amenities, the existing playground will be refurbished with the completed works delivering an amazing space for local families and visitors.

“In our 2020 community survey upgrades of parks and playgrounds were one of the top priorities put forward. We listened, and I am pleased to see the next park upgrade taking place.”

“It’s wonderful to see this underutilised space get a revamp,” Cr Thomas said. “The finished upgrade will result in a more family-friendly area for the community and is sure to attract visitors too!”

The park improvements and layout have taken into consideration previous community feedback, visual impacts, safety and accessibility requirements and the park's natural setting.

Park upgrades have also been guided by the need for asset renewal and upgrades at this location.

“The community has had a big input into these park improvements and I am very excited to see the completed upgrade later this year.”

Lincoln Reserve is part of a wider program of works. The City recently completed its first ever Dog park, at Elmore Way in High Wycombe and is undertaking an upgrade of Meloway Reserve in Maida Vale.

The City also has a current grant funding submission in to upgrade Stirk park in Kalamunda
