The City of Kalamunda Council has endorsed submissions for funding as part of the 2024/2025 Metropolitan Regional Roads Group (MRRG) Road Rehabilitation Projects Program at its April Ordinary Council Meeting.

The City of Kalamunda Council has endorsed submissions for funding as part of the 2024/2025 Metropolitan Regional Roads Group (MRRG) Road Rehabilitation Projects Program at its April Ordinary Council Meeting.

Every year, Main Roads WA invites future project submissions for consideration as part of the MRRG Road Rehabilitation Projects Program.

The program aims to provide local governments with the opportunity to seek a grant from the state government of two-thirds of the cost of the road rehabilitation projects.

Mayor Margaret Thomas said, “We are committed to Road Safety and the strong partnership between the State and Local government for road rehabilitation projects has been long running, enabling quality infrastructure to be delivered to the benefit of local residents and visitors to our region.”

The City has undertaken technical assessments across the road network and identified several suitable projects that meet the criteria, such as parts of Abernethy Road, Mundaring Weir Road, Kalamunda Road, Canning Road, Kelvin Road and Newburn Road.
