Works to Lewis Road Carpark - Delayed
** Update - 13 October 2023 - works have again been delayed. The City expects the Car Park will re-open to the public at the end of October 2023. ******* The construction to Lewis Road Carpark has commenced, with upgrades including a brand-new embayed car park on Lewis Road with drainage upgrades, and the reconstruction of the car parking area for the City’s well-known Whistlepipe Gully trail at the end of Lewis Road.
Due to this construction, the City has closed the carpark at the end of Lewis Road to all vehicles.
Lewis Road will be under traffic control with access for residents still allowed. The carpark will also be closed on weekends for safety reasons and storage of equipment and materials.
There will be a total of 29 bays open to residents and visitors to park along and at the end of Lewis Road. Due to the road width, alignment, rock, and steep batters, it is not possible for the City to construct additional bays along either side of the road.
