Bush Forever identifies, and aims to protect, regionally significant areas of bushland and wetlands on the Swan Coastal Plain within the Perth Metropolitan Region.
There are 495 Bush Forever Sites, some of which are Bush Forever Reference Sites. The sites represent each of the 26 vegetation types found cross Perth.
Listing of Bush Forever sites takes into consideration regional attributes, land forms, soils, vegetation, wetlands and threatened ecological communities.
The City of Kalamunda contains 11 Bush Forever sites.
