Energy Saving Tips for Households
22 May 2025 : 5:30 PM - 22 May 2025 : 6:30 PM
Learn how to perform an easy home energy audit and simple tips you can implement to save money on your power bills and reduce energy use.
Join Switch Your Thinking hands-on workshop to learn how to save energy, cut costs, and reduce your environmental impact. Discover why saving energy is essential for both your budget and the planet, and gain insight into how much energy is typically used in your home, and where.
They'll walk you through understanding your electricity bills and share practical tips for cutting energy use in the biggest household energy consumers: heating and cooling, hot water, appliances, and lighting. By tackling these key areas, you'll be able to make simple changes that will noticeably lower your energy usage and bills.
You’ll also learn how to use an energy efficiency kit to audit your home. These kits will be available to borrow from many libraries and Community Resource Centres across Western Australia from March. To view a list of participating libraries head to the Switch Your Thinking website: switchyourthinking.com/energy or contact the libraries directly.
Finally, you'll explore how energy efficiency fits within the growing movement to install rooftop solar and transition to an "all-electric" home. Learn how making your home energy-efficient can help you maximize the benefits of your solar panels. Whether you're looking to reduce costs or make a positive environmental impact, this workshop will empower you to make smarter energy choices.
