Review of City of Kalamunda Local Planning Scheme No. 3
The City of Kalamunda has received a decision from the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) for the City’s report of review under regulation 67 of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 (the Regulations).
The report of review assessed the City’s current Local Planning Strategy and Local Planning Scheme and considered whether the scheme was up-to-date and complied with the broad planning regulatory and policy frameworks.
The report of review provided the WAPC with recommendations (as per the Regulations) as to whether the scheme and supporting local planning strategy:
1. Are satisfactory in their existing form; or
2. Should be amended; or
3. Should be repealed, and a new scheme and new local planning strategy be prepared
The report of review was presented to Council for approval on the 26 November 2024 with a recommendation to repeal the current scheme and prepare a new scheme. The report was then forwarded to the WAPC for review and approval.
The WAPC has agreed with the recommendations in the report. The City can now commence the preparation of a new Local Planning Strategy and Local Planning Scheme.
The report of review, minutes from the Ordinary Council Meeting of 26 November 2024 and the WAPC decision are available in the Documents Library and in person at the City of Kalamunda Administration Centre (2 Railway Road, Kalamunda) during business hours.
