Wishing you a Safe Easter
The City of Kalamunda is reminding residents to stay safe this Easter, be kind to one another and reflect on all of our communities amazing achievements, as well as thinking about our health and wellbeing.
Mayor Margaret Thomas said, “I’d like to warmly wish all of you a Happy Easter and thank you for your calm resolve over the last few weeks as we worked through what the Coronavirus pandemic meant for our community.”
“There’s no doubt a lot has changed, and will keep changing, such as our first Easter with social distancing in place. The City has been working with a local taskforce to ensure our strategies to protect the community from Coronavirus are reinforced with measures to protect our mental health. Rather than focusing on what we can’t do this Easter, expert advice says to look at what we can do whilst we are staying home.”
“This might be a project in the garden, camping in the backyard, some board games with those that you live with, an online exercise class, reading a new book. It might mean using technology to connect us to family and friends. Some tools to do this may include:Skype, Zoom or Facebook Live.”
“Easter is a very religious time for many of our community members. I am aware some churches are hosting their usual services online so that you can partake from the safety of your home.”

Over Easter the City will have some changes to operations, which are common at this time each year. Our Administration office will be closed on Friday 10th April and Monday 13th April for Good Friday and Easter Monday. The City’s after hours call centre will be in place for all urgent enquiries. We will resume operations on Tuesday 14th April with the current Coronavirus protections in place.
The Walliston Transfer Station will be closed on Good Friday 10th April. Normal trading hours will continue Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at the Walliston Transfer Station.
Domestic rubbish bins due to be collected on Good Friday will be collected on Saturday. On Monday 13th April, bin collection will proceed as usual.
