Mayor Margaret Thomas said the Village had been closed since January to allow for repairs at its Old Post Office and the Chambers House building. 

“The Village holds a special place in the hearts of many people and along with the community, I want to thank the Kalamunda and Districts Historical Society for their ongoing support,” Cr Thomas said. “We’re all very excited to see the doors of this iconic location opening again.” 

Kalamunda and Districts Historical Society President Jenny Lewis said, “It is with pleasure that the Historical Society welcomes back visitors to History Village. Thank you so much to all our dedicated  volunteers who have worked so hard. Thank you to the City and their contractors  for the empathetic repairs of these 100 year old buildings.” 

The reopening coincides with the WA Day long weekend with the City expecting an influx of day-trippers and visitors to the region across the three-day break. 

“The mild, winter weather is the perfect time to visit the Perth Hills and enjoy a walk down memory lane at the Village before stopping for a meal at one of amazing cafes, wineries, pubs and restaurants,” Cr Thomas said.

Entry is $8 for adults, $6 for concession and $4 for children over five with access via the Zig Zag Cultural Centre, 50 Railway Road, Kalamunda.
