COVID-19 Community Update: 29 June 2021
The City has closed its buildings, venues and facilities to the community in response to last night’s announcement by the State Government regarding restrictions for Perth and the Peel region for a minimum of four days until 12.01am Saturday 3 July 2021, pending ongoing health advice.
Mayor Margaret Thomas announced the closure of all City Recreation Centres, Libraries, the Zig Zag Cultural Centre, Kalamunda History Village, the Walliston Transfer Station, the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre, Halls and Venues for Hire as well as outdoor amenities including playgrounds and skate parks.
In addition, community sport is cancelled and public events are not permitted during the lockdown.
“The City’s Administration Building is also closed to the public but we are continuing to serve
customers over the phone and by email and you can also complete most business transactions and payments on the City’s website,” Cr Thomas said.
“Similarly, the City’s libraries offer online access to books and resources
and you can download the Library App now to have even greater access to resources and services.
“The priority is keeping our community safe while continuing to deliver essential services in line with health advice and government recommendations.
“Please check yourself against the list of exposure sites listed. If you visited one of the locations, please get tested.
“If you have to leave home for an essential reason, masks are to be worn at all times and please follow physical distancing rules and check in using the SafeWA app or manual registers.”
