Expressions of Interest: Artist in Residence
The City of Kalamunda is currently seeking submissions of expression of interest from Artists to partake in a very exciting opportunity and be part of the Kalamunda Compassionate Communities project.
Do you want to connect with your Community? Are you passionate about helping people? Do you want to play a stronger role in the care and support of people as they age and reach the end of life?
The support we can provide as friends, family, neighbours and community members can give an unwell or dying person and their family much greater choices about where and how they want to be cared for up to and including their dying moments. These choices add greatly to their quality of life during this time.
The Kalamunda Compassionate Communities project has a number of objectives one of which is an Artist in Residence in the Kalamunda Palliative Care Unit (KPCU) and Day Hospice. They will help to create artworks that capture residents most treasured memories and generate discussions on end of life and a community workshop to create public art that expresses the community's vision for the project.
