New Attractions at Kalamunda Water Park for the Season

16 November 2022 3:00 PM

The City of Kalamunda has announced that the slides at Kalamunda Water Park will be closed for the 2022/2023 season, with structural maintenance works to be undertaken in preparation for the 2023/2024 season. The park will remain open, with new inflatable attractions on offer throughout the season.

A recent annual inspection of the facility revealed structural issues with the ageing water slides.

Mayor Margaret Thomas said the City is preparing tender documentation to undertake improvement works on the Slides, which have undergone maintenance over the last four decades having first been installed at the site in the 1980s.

The Water Park is a much loved, ageing facility which has been the beneficiary of numerous upgrades and millions of dollars in investment throughout its more than 50 year life.

“I am pleased we will be value adding to the offering with the use of some fun new equipment for the 2022/2023 season.”

“I encourage our community to utilise the pool for the summer season from when it opens on the 21 November 2022.”

“Community members can really show their support for aquatic facilities in the City by getting out and using the pool, enjoying a summers BBQ and getting fit and healthy.”

“We know how well loved the original slides at Kalamunda Water Park are, and we are devastated that they can’t be opened for the 2022/2023 season, however, the safety of our community and all those who use the facility needs to be our number one priority. These slides have been in operation for a significant number of years, with thousands of families enjoying them – and that is to be celebrated.”, she said

The facility offers guests an eight lane 50m Olympic pool, two children’s pools, a toddler splash pad, kiosk, lawn and shaded picnic areas, shaded grandstand, gas BBQs available for hire (BYO utensils), free parking and Sunrise Yoga.
